Epic Games has been constantly refining Fortnite and introducing new features over the course of the game’s lifespan. One of the most controversial additions to the game was the inclusion of vehicles, and it all started with the shopping cart, which was a pretty unlikely addition when it was first added.

The Driftboard was one of the more surprising additions because it didn’t match the traditional vehicle types that had been added to the game before it. This vehicle was something of a hybrid between a hoverboard from Back to the Future II and a snowboard, and it allowed players to do some pretty exciting things.
If you’ve ever watched any of the driftboard trickshot compilations that are available on Youtube, you probably know exactly what we’re talking about. These vehicles balanced out their increased mobility by making the user a lot more vulnerable than they would be in other, more enclosed vehicles.
The Baller is known as one of the most overpowered vehicles to ever be added to Fortnite upon release, and it was due to a range of factors. One of the most significant ones is that it was extremely difficult to fight against a baller and that there were so many of them in games with players that knew how to use them.
Over the course of the Baller’s lifespan, it received some nerfs to bring it more in line with other vehicles, including a pretty significant nerf to its HP. Over time, the Baller became a relatively balanced vehicle that allowed you to be far more mobile than many of the other vehicle choices.
While we’re on the topic of overpowered vehicles, we can’t forget to mention the X-4 Stormwing, which was the bane of many players’ existence while it was still available. One of the main problems with the Stormwing is that it was a plane, which almost entirely flipped the game’s balance on its head.
Much like the Baller, the X-4 was hated because of how overpowered it was when it was first released, but the vehicle ended up getting nerfed over time to bring it more in line with other vehicles. Regardless, the ability to fly freely still made it a powerful choice in the right hands.
As a final bonus vehicle, we’re going to take a look at the Quad Crasher, which was essentially a little quad bike that had a dozer blade attached to the front of it. While this may not sound remarkable, the vehicle was able to fly with a few skilled inputs.
This made it a great tool for mobility and an all-around fun choice to get around the map.
