Modern Warfare remastered has long stopped receiving substantial updates, but with the announcement of Modern Warfare 2 remastered last month, we expect to see the game becoming active. There was a small bug fix for the game on April 15, which added missing multiplayer maps back into the daily rotation.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s last update was on February 22 2020. Unfortunately, the game has long stopped receiving updates. Modern Warfare is still a much-loved game, however, and you can still jump into the game and find a match.
Modern Warfare has effectively stopped seeing the launch of new updates due to the fact that Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Vanguard are receiving more attention from Activision. In spite of this, the game’s player base is still going strong, so you’ll still be able to find a match.
Modern Warfare is in the same position as other Call of Duty games that have reached the end of their life cycle. While people are still playing Modern Warfare, there are no more major updates being released, with the only changes from week to week being playlist updates and refreshers.
Modern Warfare has seen less and less support over time, and since the release of Call of Duty Vanguard, the game’s developers have essentially ceased any form of updates to the game. Regardless, the community is keeping the game alive until the next entry in the Modern Warfare series comes out.
Modern Warfare’s updates have ground to a halt since the release of Call of Duty Vanguard, though the game is still seeing regular playlist updates. While it’s sad to see, it seems like Modern Warfare fans are going to have to wait until Modern Warfare 2 to see their favorite COD sub-franchise advance meaningfully.
It’s unfortunate to see Modern Warfare coming to the end of its rope, but it’s been a long time coming. With the upcoming release of COD: Vanguard, Activision is shifting most of its resources away from Modern Warfare. This is unfortunate when you consider that the game has had a thriving player base even after all of this time.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare hasn’t been updated in a while and it doesn’t seem like Activision intends to support it for much longer. Due to the announcement of
COD: Vanguard, most of their efforts have been switched over to the new title. However, in spite of this, player numbers in Modern Warfare are still staying strong.
With Modern Warfare losing support more and more with the announcement of
Call of Duty Vanguard, players are wondering when they can get another fix of the modern setting. Recent leaks have pointed to Modern Warfare currently being in development with a release date of 2022.
Modern Warfare has seen a lack of support during the past few months due to the growing focus on updating
Warzone and
Black Ops Cold War. The most recent major patch for the game added a couple of maps that were seen in Custom Games a while ago, but since then, Activision has been notably silent about the game.
Believe it or not, we’re finally seeing some new content for Modern Warfare, and it has arrived in the form of two new maps. After a long content drought, players on Modern Warfare can enjoy Al-Raab Airbase and Drainage. These maps had previously appeared in custom games before being removed from the game, but now they’re back.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare may have not seen any major updates recently, but it is still a part of Activision’s anti-toxicity initiative. The developers have banned players for using offensive names and they’ve implemented chat filters to cut out chat that may be potentially offensive to players.
With the release of Season 3 of Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare has seen the addition of a few minor cosmetics. Unfortunately, the game still seems to be getting neglected in favor of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, though this is to be expected due to how Activision tends to favor their newer titles.
