The new iteration of Warzone is just around the corner, and Call of Duty fans are excited to see what it’s going to bring to the table. Up until now, we’ve received very few details about where the new Warzone map is going to take us, but we finally have a name for it: Warzone Pacific.
Along with the developers unveiling the name of this next chapter in Warzone history, we’ve also learned a few more details about it that have us at the edge of our seats in anticipation. In this guide, we’re going to discuss some of the most exciting things that we’ve learned about Warzone Pacific, and why you should be looking forward to it as much as we are.
At first, Activision was being highly secretive about what we could expect from Warzone Pacific, to the point that most people weren’t expecting it to release until a few months after COD Vanguard. Now we’ve learned that Warzone Pacific will be releasing after Call of Duty Vanguard, but we won’t have to wait as long as we expected.
Warzone Pacific and its map Caldera will be released during COD Vanguard’s first season, which comes out on December 2nd. When this map is released, Verdansk will be disabled unless Activision decides to bring it back at a future date, so enjoy it while it lasts.
In the lead up to the release of Warzone Pacific, many players are getting impatient, and Activision understands that. They’ve offered a few ways to get early access to the map, but if you can’t get in using any of those methods, you’ll be able to get a sneak peak through the Secrets of the Pacific event.
This crossover event will span both COD Vanguard and Warzone during the first month of the game’s release leading up to Season 1. As you complete challenges, you’ll be able to learn key bits of info about Caldera, including finding some of the points of interest.
One of the most exciting things about Warzone Pacific is that it will be introducing new gameplay mechanics, and one of the mechanics that has been teased the most has included changes to Warzone’s vehicles. The release of Caldera will mark the first time that Warzone players have been able to use planes.
From what we’ve seen so far, the planes on Caldera are mainly made up of World War II vintage fighters, so don’t expect to be taking your enemies down with fighter jets with homing missiles. How these will impact the balance of Warzone remains to be seen, but they may have to be tuned over time.
Some of Caldera’s points of interest have already been revealed by Activision. Some of the areas on the map include the Naval Shipyard, the Ore Processing Docks, the Submarine Base, the Airport, the City Capital, the Volcano, the Ancient Structures, and the Fishing Village.
