Our Favorite Guns of Warzone Pre-Pacific Era

Now that Call of Duty Vanguard’s first season has come out, players are saying goodbye to a two-year era of Warzone in which Verdansk was the main map. To celebrate the end of an era, we’re going to be releasing a series of blog posts that go over what we loved most about that time period.

In today’s post, we’re going to explore some of our favorite weapons of Warzone’s pre-Pacific era, meaning that we won’t be including any of the weapons that were released alongside COD Vanguard’s first season. Keep in mind that these are our favorites, and are therefore subjective.

M13

The M13 has been one of our favorite Warzone weapons since it came out alongside Modern Warfare. This unique assault rifle may feature relatively low damage compared to some of the other options out there, but it makes up for it with an excellent rate of fire that chews through armor and health.

Another great thing about the M13 is that it’s extremely controllable on full auto, allowing you to hit enemies at extended ranges, provided you build the weapon properly. The inclusion of .300 blackout rounds also allows you a degree of versatility in how you build the gun, especially if you’re going for a suppressor.

Krig 6

The Krig 6 was our favorite assault rifle in Black Ops Cold War, and we were glad that it was represented properly when ported over to Warzone. In fact, this weapon was so dominant that it’s still a meta pick in Warzone to this day, making it just as viable as some of the best guns in Modern Warfare.

The Krig 6 is based on the Swedish AK5, which is itself based on the FN FNC, which is like the little brother to the FAL. One of the main advantages of the Krig 6 is that it offers consistent damage output without sacrificing control at longer ranges, kind of like a slower-firing M13.

Mac 10

The Mac 10 has been an exciting addition since it was released partway through Black Ops Cold War’s development cycle. While this gun can very nearly fit in your pocket and it looks like it would be more suitable for the secondary slot than the primary, it is a deadly weapon in the right hands.

Ignoring the fact that festooning this gun in attachments doesn’t exactly make it look good, its performance becomes staggering, to the point that you can melt through enemies in no time. However, you need to get better at controlling your recoil if you’re going to make the most of the Mac 10.

OTs 9

The OTs 9 is yet another machine pistol that was added in one of Black Ops Cold War’s later seasons, and this SMG is like the Soviet equivalent to the Mac 10. Both of these weapons are tiny but they pack a huge punch and become much more effective once you’ve equipped them with a few attachments.

The OTs 9 is also a blast from the past because it marks the first time we’ve seen this weapon in a Call of Duty game since the original Black Ops. In that game, it was known as the Kiparis, and it was one of the last SMGs you unlocked through the game’s level-based progression system.

Cold War AK-47

The AK-47 from Black Ops Cold War simply offered better performance than the one from Modern Warfare, in spite of it having less exciting customization options. If you don’t mind sacrificing options like the 5.45 bullets on the Modern Warfare AK, then this gun is a great choice.

This gun fulfills the niche that the AK has long fulfilled in games like Call of Duty and Counter Strike in that it’s a weapon with high recoil, a lower rate of fire, and excellent damage. In the right hands, the AK can always be a deadly gun, and it simply has an iconic look, as well.

Kar98k

Finally, the Kar98k rounds out this list for players that love performing trickshots and quick scopes. If you can hone in on an enemy’s head without any trouble, then the Kar98k is a great pick because it offers some of the best handling out of any sniper available in Warzone, rivaled only by the Swiss K31.

A popular attachment layout for the Kar98k would include the monolithic suppressor, the sniper scope, the 27.6” barrel from Singuard Custom, as well as the FTAC Sport stock and the Tac Laser.
