Rust is one of the most detailed survival games that have ever been made, and it allows you to progress from being a stone-wielding caveman all the way up to an assault trooper with a helicopter to get around. This huge gap between the top and bottom players makes Rust a relatively unforgiving place to find yourself.
Further compounding the difficulty of progressing through the world of Rust is the fact that some people have been playing the game for hundreds or even thousands of hours. Trying to compete with these advanced players is nearly impossible if you just started playing the game, but there are a few equalizers that you can rely on.
One of the greatest equalizers in the world of Rust is cheating, since that allows you to deal with enemies who would otherwise give you a great deal of trouble. However, sometimes, it can be difficult to get what you want out of your cheats, and that’s why we’ve put together this set of cheat troubleshooting guides.
When you’re installing your cheats, you’ll want to make sure that you follow all of the instructions to the letter so that you don’t end up running into any issues trying to get your hacks installed. In most cases, this includes temporarily disabling any anti-virus program that may currently be active.
If you don’t have any third-party anti-virus, you’ll have to make sure that you turn off Windows Defender, since your computer will default to that. The thing about Windows Defender is that it has a nasty habit of quarantining any program it thinks is suspicious, and that extends to anything without a certificate.
Unfortunately, since it’s pretty much impossible to get a cheat program certified because of its grey market status, that means that anti-virus programs will always come up with a false positive on cheats. This will interrupt the installation process and it will make it so your cheats don’t work.
This is why you’ll typically run into a huge number of issues if you install a cheat package without disabling your anti-virus programs. However, this isn’t the only thing that you’ll have to account for if you want to be sure that your cheats end up installing without any issues, as secure boot also exists.
Secure boot is a feature in your computer’s BIOS that ensures that other programs can’t inject into the startup sequence of your machine, and while it’s typically a good idea, it’s not something you want on with cheats. That’s because cheats need to get started early on in your computer’s startup queue so that they can circumvent anti-cheat programs.
Since this makes it so much harder for anti-cheat to detect your hacks, it’s often a good idea to go into your computer’s BIOS and disable the secure boot function. To do this, you’ll have to press the prompted key on your computer’s splash screen when you start it up to enter the BIOS.
Once you’re in the BIOS, you’ll have to navigate through the menus until you find the secure boot feature. It’s often a good idea just to search up where you can find it to save yourself some time. You can then shut off the secure boot function so that your cheats will install properly and work without getting you banned.
Another frequent issue that you may end up running into while you’re trying to use your cheats is a hardware compatibility problem. There’s a reason why we stress taking a close look at your computer’s hardware before you decide to purchase a pack of cheats, and it isn’t only because hacks may affect your performance.
Every cheat pack has a range of computer hardware that it’s compatible with, and while many cheat developers like to ensure that they have the widest possible range of compatibility, this is sometimes impossible. There are a few reasons why some hacks aren’t optimized for all hardware, though it’s typically a matter of saving development time.
First off, some cheats will only be compatible with certain CPUs. For example, some of our internal cheats are only designed to work with Intel CPUs because of the difficulty involved in putting together an internal cheat in the first place. In some cases, optimizing these cheats may be impossible.
Other things that may cause you issues with compatibility include the GPU that’s installed on your computer, with some hacks working with an AMD GPU instead of an Nvidia graphics card. Also, don’t forget that your computer’s operating system is another thing that you’ll have to look at.
Most of our cheats are compatible only with Windows 10, so if you’re looking to cheat, then you may finally have a reason to update your operating system. Also, you’ll want to be sure that you have the proper version of Windows 10, as some cheats may only be compatible with certain revisions of it.
One of the most crucial parts of making sure that your cheats are working properly is getting to know how to configure them and making sure that they’re configured. If you’ve never cheated in an online game before, then you may not know what each of the configuration options does in the first place.
If that’s the case, then you may not properly configure your cheats when you first start up the game after installing your hacks, and you may not have even configured them at all. In many cases, cheat packs start off with the cheats disabled until you configure them to ensure that you can cheat safely.
If this wasn’t the case, you would end up with all of the cheats active if you neglected to configure your cheats, and you may end up making it obvious that you’re hacking. That would probably end up getting you banned because you would be on the receiving end of a huge number of reports.
To avoid running into this issue, make sure that you enter the configuration menu (or .config file for your hacks as soon as you install them). Some cheats will even put you directly into this menu once the cheats have been installed for the first time so you don’t end up running into this problem.
If you’ve tried all of the above solutions and you still can’t get any meaningful results out of them, then you may have to take more drastic measures. We’d recommend starting off by reinstalling your cheat packages to ensure that you’re working with cheats that aren’t improperly installed.
This may help you out if you initially installed your hacks with your anti-virus on or the secure boot function enabled. Even if you end up shutting them down after your cheats are installed, they may have caused issues in the install process that would require you to reinstall them to ensure that they’re operating properly.
You may want to ensure that you uninstall your cheats before you reinstall them, as that may cause further issues. If you’re finding it hard to uninstall your cheats and you’re trying to troubleshoot things, you may have to go as far as uninstalling the entire game so that you can have a clean install to work with.
If this is an issue that you frequently run into, we may even recommend copying your game files and backing them up somewhere else on your computer’s disk so you don’t end up having to redownload all of the files. On the other hand, if you have a fast internet connection, this may not end up being an issue for you.
