Even though it launched a month after the release of Call of Duty Vanguard, it seems like Warzone Pacific is having some teething issues. Were Call of Duty fans right to believe that this new chapter in the Warzone experience would be released in an unfinished state? That’s what we’re here to find out.
We’re going to start by taking a look at some of the most common bugs and glitches that are plaguing Warzone Pacific and then we’ll get into whether or not Raven Software is working to fix them. This should make it easier for our readers to decide if the game is in a playable enough state for them yet.
At the top of the list, we have UI glitches that assail the player the minute they load up the game. These glitches are first on our list because they’re the first that you’ll notice, though they may not be quite as game-breaking as some of the other glitches that you’ll come across while in-game.
These glitches include your Operator not appearing on the main menu screen or even the customization screen. This can make it impossible to select the skin that you’ve paid for, as your Operators will often appear as disembodied heads that sometimes even have the textures inside-out.
Audio glitches are also surprisingly common in the early days of Warzone Pacific, and they can range from slightly annoying to deafening. For example, some gunshots may end up sounding like they’re duplicated, making you think that there’s someone else further away shooting at the same time.
On the other hand, we’ve also encountered glitches where the game will start screeching nonstop. In these cases, we’ve had to quickly lower our volume or even take our headphones off before the game causes us permanent hearing damage. If this happens in the middle of a firefight, you’ll likely lose it.
However, the worst glitches that you’ll come across in Warzone Pacific are the visual ones. These glitches can take up the entirety of your screen, and they’re typically due to models being wonky and taking up much more space than they’re supposed to, with some guns stretching to cover your whole screen.
Once again, if one of these glitches occurs when you’re in the middle of a fight, then you’ll probably end up getting killed because you won’t be able to see your enemy in the first place. While some of these glitches can be gotten rid of by switching to a sidearm, they will reoccur the minute you pull out your primary weapon, so it’s not a permanent fix.
Thankfully, Raven Software has let players know that fixes for these glitches are on the way, but this points to a deeper issue. Since the release of Black Ops Cold War, we’ve seen a blase level of carelessness from Activision when it comes to releasing games that are clearly unfinished instead of delaying them.
