Cheating is prevalent in many FPS games, but we’ve seen a larger number of hackers than ever in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. In fact, we’ve seen so many people buying cheats for this game that we figured we’d publish this piece about the motivations behind why people cheat in BOCW.
One of the major factors that pushes people to cheat in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is the game’s lengthy progression system. Making your way through weapon levels, for example, is much slower than in Call of Duty Modern Warfare, so players have countered the artificially inflated grind by hacking.
Using cheats may also make it easier to make it through the seasonal ranks in BOCW and to achieve all seasonal Prestige logos without having to get frustrated at repeated losses. Since cheating tends to make the game more enjoyable, you can also put in enough hours to reap all of the Battle Pass’s rewards.
With the return of Zombies in this year’s Call of Duty title, we’ve also seen the return of competitive Zombies players who like to duke it out on the leaderboards. Legitimately making it to extremely high rounds in Zombies games can often be challenging, especially if you’re not always attentive.
By using cheats, you’ll be able to ensure that you can mow through legions of zombies without worrying about getting caught from behind. Using something like an aimbot with an unlimited FOV will allow you to snap to all of the zombies around you, dispatching them in the most efficient way possible.
While Ranked play took a little while to get kicked off in this year’s COD, it’s now back and better than ever. As in previous games, Ranked play allows the best COD players to battle each other for supremacy, and climbing the ranks allows you to show off that you’re the best to all of your friends.
However, as you climb the ranked ladder, you’ll start facing more and more intimidating enemies. If you don’t want any trouble competing with them, then using a combination of an ESP and an aimbot will allow you to be prepared for even the most talented players.
A major reason why people start cheating in games like Black Ops Cold War is because they perceive that other people are hacking as well. Whether or not the guy who killed you is a hacker or just a really good player, it’s not a good feeling when you have a nagging reminder in the back of your head that anyone could be a cheater.
Instead of sitting around worrying about whether you got killed by a hacker, you can instead be the one with the hacks that people have to fear. This will also ensure that if you ever run into a hacker in Call of Duty, then you two will at least be fighting each other on an even playing field.
Playing Call of Duty with friends is one of the best ways to enjoy the game, but the game isn’t quite as enjoyable when your friends are always teasing you for being bad at the game. If you’re sick of hearing it from your friends, using cheats is a great way to instantly improve your performance.
Even if your friends aren’t openly abusive or annoying, using cheats will still allow you to impress them. If you’ve never gotten the “Nuclear Killer” medal for a 30-kill streak, then you’ll be able to add it to your collection, giving you some awesome bragging rights.
One of the worst things about the two most recent Call of Duty games is the insistence on SBMM, also known as skill-based matchmaking. This form of matchmaking does away with the classic Call of Duty formula of matching up random players with each other and instead uses the results of the past ten games to match people up.
What this means is that if you’re even a reasonably good player at Call of Duty, you’ll end up getting matched with more and more deadly opponents until you’re just getting stomped. At that point, the cycle repeats itself and it creates a thoroughly unsatisfying gameplay loop.
When you use cheats in Black Ops Cold War, it will be easier for you to compete with the deadlier enemies that you’ll find yourself getting matched up against after you win.
